10 Reasons I’m Grateful This Thanksgiving 2025: A Heartfelt Reflection

The Lavender Letter
Dear Lavender Loves,
As I sit here at my desk on this Thanksgiving Day, I feel led to pause and share ten things I’m deeply grateful for. This year held both soft moments and heavy ones, but when I slow down and really notice what’s good, I discover abundance woven through every part of my life; more than I often allow myself to see.
1. My Family — My Forever “Why”
My daughter, my son, and my daughter-through-love are my constant motivators. They keep me going when I want to quit, they make me laugh, they make me cry, and they remind me daily of the joy in my life. My siblings — one brother, one sister — and I have grown up and grown apart in geography, but we are always and forever Cleveland’s children. My nieces and nephews, now adults building lives of their own, I still carry the fun of your childhood sleepovers at my house. I’ll always show up for them. And to my future grandchild: I cannot wait to meet you next year. You are already loved, and my heart skips every time I think of you.
2. The Gift of a New Day
Every morning, I wake up is another blessing I don’t take lightly. It means I have another chance to grow, to create, to love, to try again.
3. My Health
I’m grateful for a body that carries me. For limbs that move. For five senses that allow me to experience the world. I’m not perfect, and yes, I could eat better and move more but I have the ability to choose wellness, and that is a gift.
4. My Creativity
This is one of the biggest blessings God placed in me. It took me far too long to embrace it fully, but now I honor it through Create Lavender. This part of me feels like coming home.
5. You — My Community
Whether you’re a customer, a supporter, or simply visiting this blog, thank you. From my very first designs to my very first vending event, your encouragement has mattered. Every purchase, every like, every compliment, every smile in person; all of it has fueled my courage to keep going.
6. Kindness in the World
In a time where every headline seems determined to spotlight the worst, I’m grateful for the quiet kindness happening every day. When I look for it, I find it. It reminds me the world still has far better than we’re shown.
7. The Beauty of Creation
Nature has been a balm this year. The trees stretching upward, flowers daring to bloom, the sky shifting colors, oceans breathing, birds and animals just being. Sometimes nature's beauty whispers the loudest.
8. The Simple Joy of Tea
Yes, I’m thankful for my herbal tea. This small ritual with the aroma rising, the warmth in my hands, the first sip has become one of my daily pockets of peace.
9. The Lessons Learned
This year taught me a lot. Some lessons I welcomed; others dragged me through frustration and tears. But each one shaped me, stretched me, and asked me to grow. I didn’t always want the lesson, but I’m grateful for the woman I’m becoming through them.
10. The Holiday Season
From Halloween straight through Christmas, I love this entire stretch of festive joy. I am absolutely in full holiday spirit. The lights, music, movies, décor, yes, all of it. This season brings out the childlike wonder in me, and I welcome it.
As you move through your own Thanksgiving Day, I hope you’ll pause — even for a moment — to acknowledge one small thing you’re grateful for. Sometimes that tiny spark is enough to soften the edges of whatever you’re facing.
Wishing you a warm, joyful, and peaceful Holiday season.
